From the Health Office

 Here is the correct version:

Please see our MMSD Covid response website for a lot of good information.  A few key points:
  • You should get a Covid screener e-mail every morning from MMSD.  If your child is healthy and coming to school, you do NOT need to fill it out.  If they have one of the symptoms listed in the screener, please fill the e-mail screener out, call Randall attendance line at 608-204-3306 or use the web attendance to report your child absent, and a nurse will follow up with you.  You may need to contact your provider for a PCR test if warranted.
  • The symptoms you want to keep your child home for are fever, cough, congestion, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, or if your child was a close contact with a Covid positive person.  If they develop these symptoms at school we will need to call you to bring the child home and possibly get a Covid PCR test.
  • Again this year MMSD will be requiring a baseline negative Covid test for allergy symptoms, even if the child has known seasonal allergies.

At this time if your child needs to get a PCR test for Covid, we are recommending speaking to your primary and/or using one of Dane County Public Health community testing sites.  As of Thursday 9/16/2021, we are told by Dane County Public Health that there will be a limited number of MMSD Covid kiosks open from 9 am-3 pm at Thoreau, Lowell, West, Blackhawk/Gompers, Shenck/Whitehorse, Toki/Orchard, Hawthorne, Memorial, and LaFollette.  You can access any of these kiosks.  HERE is a link to help you access this option.  Thank you for your patience and partnership in helping keep Franklin open and safe!

Bus times have changed!!! Please read!! (Started 9/16/21)

 Greetings from Randall!

As you know so well, our bus pick up times are not working. Students have been arriving late to  school each morning. To ensure the timely arrival of your children, all bus pick-ups have been moved back 11 minutes (Please see attached for your revised pick-up time). THIS CHANGE WILL GO INTO EFFECT THIS THURSDAY-9/16.

Also, outward bound (after school) drop-off points are arranged by the week. Drop-offs are not arranged on a day-by-day basis. It is not yet possible to schedule different drop-off points on different days.  The office can submit a transportation change request if you need to make a change.

Please contact me if you have any questions. Again, this change will begin this coming THURSDAY.

Go Raccoons!

John
