Math                                                                                

  • This week we started off with a quiz reviewing our learning from before Spring Break on shapes.
  • Next, we revisited our old friend--volume of prisms!   (This has been a great review before we do our Forward testing next week in math.)
                    
Science
  • What Can Determine How Much Water Is Available For Human Use?  
  • We finished up our investigation of our Chapter 5 question: "How can East Ferris turn wastewater into clean freshwater?"
  • Next week we will take a break and do some Human Growth and Development.
  • The week of April 18th we will start our final science unit on Ecosystem Restoration.
Literacy  
  • Word Work this week included work with homophones. 
  • Whole Group Reading starting a unit on point of view and perspective. 
  • We did our Literacy Forward Exams this week.
  •  Our genre "Book Bowl Books" continues on.  Students participating in Book Bowl will have an opportunity to do some closer reading for their upcoming competition while also strengthening their writing skills.   Those NOT participating in Book Bowl will get a chance to read at least one of the books so that they can be an active audience member. 
  • Quarter 4 writing genre will be opinion.
Health
  • Human Growth and Development lessons will take place next week with a follow-up discussion with the nurse the week after.
