Valentine's Day--Monday, February14th
- This is an optional activity. We only ask that if your 5th grader does decide to bring valentines, they will bring one for every child in the class. (Your classroom teacher will provide a list of names to your 5th grader.)
- On this day, your 5th grader will have some time to pass out valentines to their classmates.
- In order to comply with our Covid protocols, we ask that anything edible be individually wrapped or packaged.

Math
- This was the week of the algorithm!!! I think everyone saw progress in success in moving from previously learned strategies for multi-digit multiplication towards the algorithm. Practice makes perfect! Ask your child to show you these new skills at home.
- On to division.....we started looking at division of larger numbers using the ratio table.
- Next week we will finish up our division work, review and take a test for Unit 4!
Science
- We finished up our unit on Modeling Matter!
- Next week we will do some mapping activities.
Literacy
- Word Work this week included working with syllable rules.
- Whole Group Reading involved a story based on how people view good luck and bad luck. Ask your kiddo to share the story with you.
- We continue to read and respond to our Survival books.
- Next week we will be introducing a project that we will be working on for Black History Month!!
