It was great to connect with families and make a plan for your 5th grader's last semester as a Randall Raccoon!!
Math
- This week we only had a few days of math instruction due to our Forward testing.
- We started off the week with review of how to find area.
- Next Monday we will have a review day and take a test for Unit 6 on Tuesday.
- Unit 7 will be focused on division, decimals and powers of 10!!
Science
- Human Growth and Development--see below
- Next week we will start our final science unit on Ecosystem Restoration. We will be answering the question:
- How do organisms in an ecosystem get the matter and and energy they need to grow and thrive?
Literacy
- Word Work this week included work with verb tenses.
- Whole Group Reading starting a unit on point of view and perspective.
- Book Bowl is next week on Wednesday!!
- Our genre "Book Bowl Books" continues on. Students participating in Book Bowl will have an opportunity to do some closer reading for their upcoming competition while also strengthening their writing skills. Those NOT participating in Book Bowl will get a chance to read at least one of the books so that they can be an active audience member.
- Quarter 4 writing genre will be opinion.
Health
