Spring has Sprung!!
Asynchronous Early Release Mondays/Staff PD Day
Yikes! I thought we were done typing/reading that word :) Well, DPI and the MMSD School District has informed us that we need to make up instructional minutes for those three days students missed in January right after Winter Break. In an attempt not to add minutes to the day or adding days at the end of the year, your child have an assignment in SeeSaw every Monday (see below). This will begin this upcoming Monday, April 25th.This will be independent work and up to your family to use as you see fit.
Mondays will look something like:
(Friday, May 27th will look a bit different--more to come.)
To Do:
- Lexia (30 minutes)
- DreamBox (30 minutes)
- Independent Reading (30 minutes)
- AL opportunities in SeeSaw (optional)
Math

- Next, we started off Unit 7 by looking at and working with partial quotients.

Science
- Human Growth and Development was completed with a question and answer session with Nurse Amber.
- We began our final science unit on Ecosystem Restoration. We will be answering the question:
- How do organisms in an ecosystem get the matter and and energy they need to grow and thrive?
- This week we started to think about: "Why aren't the jaguars and sloths growing and thriving?
Literacy
- Word Work this week was a review week of past learning.
- Whole Group Reading continued with work on point of view and perspective.
- Book Bowl was on Wednesday!! This was so fun to watch!
- Quarter 4 writing genre will be opinion. This week we did some discussions on how we will structure this writing and then did some quick writes to get us in the groove for writing our opinions!
