Math                                                                                

  • This week we worked with division problems involving money and finding area with multiplication of decimals
  • We also took our Unit 7 Post-Test!!! 
  • We continued with our May number corner activities which will include a lot of graphing/coordinate grid work and conversion work using the customary system of measurement.
  • For the remaining weeks of school, we will be reviewing some work from this year in areas where the students may have struggled.  Every day will be a new adventure :)
                    
Science
  • We are almost done with our final science unit on Ecosystem Restoration.  
  • How do organisms in an ecosystem get the matter and and energy they need to grow and thrive?
  • This week we continued to learn, discuss and think about: 
  • Why aren't the cecropia trees growing and thriving in the soil?
  • We will finish this unit next week!!
  • For the remainder of the year we will use this time to explore topics in social studies and science that the students want to learn more about.
  • Thursday was Garden Day at Randall!  Ask your child what they did in the Randall Outdoor Garden.
Literacy  
  • Word Work this week involved lessons on common suffixes and looking at vocabulary strategies for  suffixes. 
  • Each classroom is doing their own Whole Group Reading for the remaining weeks and writing projects.  Ask your child to share with you!
  • Quarter 4 writing genre will be opinion.
